This plant loves a wet soil but does not like over-watering. In the young age it is sensitive to frost but later forbears -5°C if the weather is not long- term. It should be placed in a colder greenhouse or in the room through the winter times. California fan palm’s needs are modest so it is an excellent choice if you have a busy schedule and in return it gives its environment a summerlike atmosphere like you are by the sea, sun and sand.
